The architecture in the centre of Vlissingen is an exciting combination of old and new. The same is true of the many visual expressions that you will encounter here in the open air. You will see not only sculptures of sea heroes from a distant past, but also abstract contemporary-figurative and applied art.

A striking example of the latter category is The World Wind Organ at the top of Nolledijk, unique in the Netherlands and one of only three in Europe. The wind blows through its bamboo pipes and changes tune continuously.
