The Mayor

The mayor is appointed by the Crown. The appointment is on the recommendation of the Crown Commissioner and by nomination of the Minister of Home Affairs. The period of office of a mayor is six years. After expiry of this period he or she may be appointed for another period of six years.

In Vlissingen Mr. R.H. (René) Roep has been appointed as mayor on 15 December 2010.
